When travelling in Portugal, the drink of choice is wine. Wine is the most popular drink of Portugal. Red wine is the favourite among the locals, but white wine is also popular.
There are dozens of wines available from different regions of Portugal. These wines are greatly recognized worldwide because of their high quality. The “vinho verde” or green wine of the northern region of Minho in Portugal is also very famous. Port is yet another popular variety of wine which is produced in the vineyards of Douro River.
